ValleyCats Continue to Roll North of the Border
TROIS-RIVIERES, Quebec, Canada - The Tri-City ValleyCats, beginning a stretch of ten-straight road games, ran their winning streak to six with tonight's 17-5 victory at Les Aigles de Trois-Rivières.
The 'Cats (46-34), now 18-5 since July 22, used a seven-run second to hold a 13-2 lead after 4 1/2 innings of play on their way to the road win.
Designated hitter Denis Phipps, the Frontier League leader in homers and RBI, went 3-for-4 with two home runs, six RBI, and two runs scored. Parks finished 5-for-6 with four runs scored and three RBI, while McCusker, who hit multiple home runs for the second-straight game, went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and four RBI. Second baseman Brantley Bell, who tops the league in batting average, ran his hitting streak to 29 with a pair of hits on Friday night.
First baseman Connor Panas went 2-for-5 with three RBI to pace les Aigles.
