Aigles End 'Cats Winning Streak
TROIS-RIVIERES, Quebec, Canada - The Tri-City ValleyCats saw their winning streak end at six with tonight's 8-1 loss at Les Aigles de Trois-Rivières.
Centerfielder Jace Mercer accounted for the lone ValleyCat run with a solo homer in the fifth. Mercer and third baseman Pavin Parks each recorded two hits for Tri-City.
Trois-Rivières, which hit four home runs tonight, also kept 'Cats second baseman Brantley Bell, the Frontier League leader in batting average, from registering a hit for the first time since July 10th, ending his hitting streak at 29 games.
Tri-City, which began the night in second place in the East Division and battling to secure a playoff spot, looks to start a new winning streak tomorrow afternoon when it wraps up the weekend series with Les Aigles. First pitch at Stade Quillorama is slated for 1:05 pm.
The ValleyCats, in the midst of a stretch of ten-straight road games, return home on Tuesday, August 30 vs. the Sussex County Miners.
