Boulders Blast Past ValleyCats
PONOMA, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats dropped this morning's game at the New York Boulders 23-8.
Leftfielder Brantley Bell, shortstop Pavin Parks and first baseman Brad Zunica, all of whom were named a Frontier League All-Star on Monday, led the ValleyCat offense. Bell recorded three-hit performance, while Parks added a pair of hits, one of which was a homer. Zunica hit a two-run homer of his own. Each of the trio scored a pair of runs, helping the 'Cats get out to an 8-5 lead through 3.5 innings.
It was all New York from there. The Boulders set a Frontier League single-game record with nine home runs in the contest. Leftfielder David Vinsky and first basemen Chris Kwitzer paced the historic effort with two homers each. Vinsky finished the day 3-for-4 with three runs scored and five RBI, while Kwitzer went 3-for-6 with five RBI and three runs scored.
The teams face each other again tomorrow night at 6:30 pm. Get to Joseph L.
