'Cats Fall to Capitales
TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats wrapped up their seven-game homestand on Thursday vs. the Quebec Capitales.
The visitors, currently atop the Can-Am Conference standings, got out to a 7-0 lead on their way to a 15-4 victory.
Catcher/first baseman Joe Campagna topped the 'Cats offense in the setback, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. The newcomer, one of four Tri-City players to record multiple hits, hit a two-run homer and a ribbi double. Centerfielder Jesus Lujano, designated hitter Denis Phipps and rightfielder Carson McCusker were the others. Phipps accounted for the other 'Cats tally with a solo shot in the fourth.
Capitales third baseman T.J. White hit a pair of home runs, part of a four RBI night, while centerfielder Jonathan Lacroix went 4-for-6 with a double and two runs scored.
The ValleyCats hit the road for three games at Sussex County this weekend. Tri-City is back at "The Joe" on Wednesday, July 13th vs. the New York Boulders.
