Parks Named Frontier League All-Star Game MVP
WASHINGTON, PA - Tri-City ValleyCats sent three players to Washington, PA for Wednesday night's Frontier League All-Star Game, presented by the Coury Firm. Outfielder Brantley Bell, and infielders Pavin Parks, and Brad Zunica were selected as 2022 Frontier League All-Stars following strong first halves. Parks (right) would start at shortstop for the East, while Bell (left) and Zunica (center) would be available as reserves.
In his first at-bat of the night, Parks kicked off the scoring with a solo home run to right field. On the night, Parks would go 2-for-3, with an RBI thanks to the longball (the only home run of the game), scoring twice, and recording two assists in the field in as many attempts.
Off of the bench, both Zunica and Bell, hitting back-to-back to start the sixth inning, would tally hits in their first at-bat. Zunica would scorch a double down the line, advancing to third on a Brantley Bell single before scoring on a wild pitch. Bell would add another single to his stat line in his second and final at-bat of the evening.
The trio helped the East Division defeat the West Division 8-1.
Following the completion of the contest, players from both teams gathered on the field as Frontier League President Eric Krupa presented Parks with the 2022 Frontier League All-Star Game's Most Valuable Player Award.
